Northern Constabulary, Top of the Form Contest 1984. A team from North Walls Primary School was the Orkney Sub-Divisional winner. They went on to take 3rd place in the Divisional Final.
In the picture, back row - Class teacher Mrs Linda Kirkpatrick (nee Clouston),Olivia Thomson, Magnus Mowat, Head Teacher John Eccles.

The same buzzers as Paul Sutherland described in picture #4248. picture #13291 shows another winning team.
I wonder if they all still have their dictionaries (is that how you spell it?)

They did really well and a fair bit o' Sutherland and Thomson genes among them.

I do still have my dictionary, I just used it last night. This team are still the current holders of this title as it was never competed for again.
I'm the one on the left and I think that we were probably all related to each other in some way, distant and not so distant cousins etc. Must be clever gene pool. HAHA

The dictionary is still in regular use in this house. Likewise in a few others that I know of. Missing a lot of the new words but it has plenty to do me!
