Dangerous Cliffs

You don't say? I did have to chuckle at this sign. Orkney is surrounded with dangerous cliffs, but this is the only time I've seen a wanring sign.

Its because silly tourests think they can go right to the edge and look over! Even since i was a bairn it was always drilled in to me never go near the craigs as we lived next to the sea!

Aye, me father is the same wi me. I had me video camera wi me that day and father shouts at the tv when it even looks like I'm anywhere near the edge. I was with a world class climber who wouldnt go near the edge without first staking us to the ground. I got some great shots but didn't tell Dad at first that I was staked and roped to the ground. All joking aside though, it was a lovely sunny day wi no wind. We were staked to the ground enjoying the sun and watching the climbers when out of nowhere a gale force, offshore wind, full of ice, hit us like a locomotive. It passed and went out to sea as quick as it had arrived. Had we been just standing, and near the edge, we'd have been fish food for sure.
