First two pylons coming down

Pylons. 1955.
The first two pylons coming down. The date is a guess but I am sure this was in the 50s.

I mind pylons in Longhope - near Aithsdale and the Gallow Hill Quarry. Does anyone have any photos of them? They went a long time ago!

Don't have any photos but I mind the day they came down at "The Station" it was cold and foggy and a bit sad to see. Don't know if it was before or after grandad O'The Glebe bought the place from the Admiralty round about 1955. I have a feeling it was after that.
