Miniature facsimiles of drawings and engravings by Wm. Daniell dated 1821. Number four of four. I hope to get the other two sometime soon. Wm. Daniell did twelve full sized tinted prints when he was in Orkney between 1818 and 1823. A truly remarkable man. Quite a few of our customers had them on their walls in their living room when I was painting and decorating many years ago. Added by Phil Brough.

I am trying to find any information on David G Webster who was the UP minister at Kirkwall from 1865 till he had to retire through ill health in 1903. David and his wife Jane had at least 11 children that i know of one of their daughters Jane Hall Webster married into my mothers family the Atkinsons who were timber importers from the Northumberland area. Is there any way of finding out about this Webster family. Thank you for your time.

In reply to your request about finding out about the Webster family,I am not an expert on these things but if you go to the Kirkwall Library via the Web and ask for the Orkney Archives and you should get the information you want. Added by Phil Brough.

Rev David Webster wrote "The History of the United Presbyterian Congregation Kirkwall 1796-1900". According to this book his father was James Webster a blacksmith in Rescobie, Forfarshire and his mother was Margaret Hall. David was born 19th July 1831 and was educated in Letham. The family are listed in the Kirkwall census from 1871 onwards.
