I love this website! When I look at photographs like this one I remember all those people just as I last saw them!! I haven't lived in Orkney since the early 1950s but I do remember that good-looking Brough boy!! I think the last time we spoke, 1968 maybe, you made rude comments about my haircut!! Thanks for the memories, Phil.

Hello Freda, would you be one of the Linklater Family from Willowburn Road with two other sisters, Norma and Irene, and brother Bobbo? Correct me if I am wrong, please,a thousand apologies about your haircut! I remember so many school friends from that area near the Willows. Hear from you soon I hope! Added by Phil Brough.

Apologies accepted, Phil. It was a rather dramatic haircut after all!! Yes, you have the right family but you forgot a third sister, Jean. We were all "home" together last September for a short reunion. It was a real nostalgia trip for me as I had not been in Orkney since Mom died in 1991. I wish it had been a longer visit. It would be nice to know where all those old friends are now. I love looking through the old photographs on this site - they are just as I remember their faces from all those years ago so it's easy for me to recognize them. Keep in touch, Phil.
