This picture of the Earl Thorfinn will be among a selection showing all the North Isles boats at a talk by Billy Cardno in the St Magnus Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday 17th February: see Orkney Heritage Society's website for details. Many hitherto unseen pictures including include dry dock shots of the boats and some memorabilia from the Thorfinn will also be on display. This is probably on a "Trip" day or some special occasion as the ship's name pennant is flying at the top of the foremast and the "Orkney Steam" Company houseflag at the top of the mainmast- this was not normal pracice.
