Delighted to see this photo of "me fither",Hector, it's one I've never seen before. Hector was a Stronsay man only moving to Kirkwall in the 1950s.

Hi, Just a few corrections: It cannot be 1942 because they are wearing their ship name on headband, this was stopped due to security reasons in WW1&II. Gibralter right as they were doing their two year's National Service sometime between 1936 to 1939 and were all recalled from RNR which was compulsory for 6yrs to serve in WWII and all three served all Russian Convoy's..!!
