This photo is almost unreal but even to the untrained eye we can see how these gorges were ground oot by the ice age.

John, the fettes.com/orkney website has quite a few pages on the Hoy landscape and glaciers. John Bremner's book has a description of a polished stone talisman found in a cave up on the Dwarfie Hamars. Any climbing archaeologists out there?
