Picture taken today, 5th September 2006. Just before taking it I spoke to George (Leonard), and agreed with him that even the old shop shown in picture #1158 was still missed.

A very sad day indeed. Many happy memories will be recalled by many generations of this and especially the old shop across the street. I know my pocket money was usually dwindled away to nothing in a single Saturday morning visit! I remember one occasion getting into serious trouble when after being sent to get the papers -(boxG7)! -I used some of the change to buy one of those metal MILBRO catapults they always had. Mum didn't seem to think it a wise investment :o)
