Men who built the Stronsay kirk

Some of the men who built the kirk. I guess this would have been about 1954 as it was opened in May 1955. Standing L to R James Mowat, John Miller, Tom Carter,James Work, Dod Burghes,Ernest Firth,[contractor] & Sam Reid. sitting L toR Ronnie Garson,Edward Dunnet, Frances Craigie,John Miller,John Pottinger. There were at least two more who are not in the photo

Two of my uncles are in this group - Uncle Dod (George) Burghes, my Mom's brother and Uncle Tommy Carter, who was married to my Aunt Chris, my Mom's sister. There are so many memories on this website, I love it!
