Tom's picture of him perilously afloat at Scapa in 1936 (picture 150) has caught the imagination of our readers, so here is a close up picture of the cheery young chap himself.

This is the first time I've seen this picture of my Dad. I remember making similar boats with friends Cecil and Bill about 30 years later when I spent my summer holidays at Scapa. Great fun.
