Harvesting at Noltland Westray

A postcard sent on July 1st 1907
Picture added on 23 February 2006
Comments:
I have a copy of this postcard which i had sent to me by Jessie Rendall, westray.
I remember her saying that the man on the far left of the photo is my grandfather
James Rendall of Longhouse, Westray. She also told me that his brother Billy is
one of the group but i cannot remember which one. Can any one help.?

Again my Westray contact Jessie Rendall has provided the names of the persons in
the photo. Left to right. James Rendall, Longhouse. Jock Muir, Backarass.
Robbie Gray, Noltland. John Rendall, Longhouse. Robert Rendall, Lochend.
Davie Drever, Broughton. So Billy Rendall is not in the photo.

Hello Sylvia, You say that you are related to the Longhouse Rendalls I am sure that there are plenty people who could confirm it for you if you are short of information. Where are you ?

Found out recently that my Gt. grandmother, Agnes Seater (married Andrew Kennedy) family is from Westray, not Egilsay where she was born. Her parents were Christina Pottinger and Thomas Seater. Thomas's parents were George Seatter and Anges Rendall. Any information on Agnes or Thomas would be appreciated. Or Christina's parents John Pottinger and Janet Reid. I just have their names from Orkney family history society BMD, on Thomas and Christina's death. I have a picture of Andrew Kennedy and Agnes Seater if anyone is interested.

Here's a bit of a coincidence: the photo's caption has two Ns reversed. Immediately (and I mean minutes) before logging on here I had been posting a shot elsewhere with exactly the same mistake. If Steven will allow, I'll post it on OIL as a matter of possible interest.
