Date rather approx. Taits garage after it was partially blocked in. McGregors store had been knocked down and the petrol pumps shifted across the road. You can see the two travelling van stores still their. Billy Learmonth was in the westerly one who serviced Gilbert Hay's West Mainland Van and George Harcus & Family in the other store who looked after Stanley Ballantyne who did the East Mainland. Across the road P.F. Thomson's garage with the Shell sign and Jowett car outside, Shell Mex were still distributing from Shore Street.
