Longhope boat on Stromness slipway

Got this photo from someone from Stromness. I dont know why our then new boat was on the slipway, maybe there were thoughts to allocate a Solent class boat to Stromness?

My own thinking is that they were trying to steal our new LIfeboat because in the second photo no one is in sight as they had been arrested! Or there is just the faint possibility our lads were in the pub!
